The USA Pro Cycling Challenge (formerly Quiznos Pro Challenge) is the most demanding bike race ever held on American soil, with racers experiencing breathless altitudes, day after day. The race is on the level of the Tour de France, bringing the high speeds, danger and adrenaline of professional biking to elevations over 2 miles high in some of the most picturesque terrain in the world—the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

The world’s best cyclists - including the 3 podium winners from the 2011 Tour de France, Cadel Evans, and brothers, Frank and Andy Schleck  - from teams such as Radioshack, BMC, HTC, Garmin, and Liquigas will be put to the test like never before.

The USA Pro Cycling Challenge will be a high-speed endurance test on terrain unmatched anywhere else in the world, with altitudes and downhill peaks double what riders typically face. Traveling at blistering speeds, riders will risk it all in this high speed, high-adrenaline competition—with the fans there at every turn; up close and personal, with the action flying by, in person, and online.

  • Prologue: Monday August 22: Prologue time trial, Colorado Springs
  • Stage 1: Tuesday August 23: Salida to Crested Butte, mountain-top finish
  • Stage 2: Wednesday August 24: Gunnison to Aspen, mountain stage
  • Stage 3: Thursday August 25: Vail, time trail, former Coors Classic stage
  • Stage 4: Friday August 26: Avon to Steamboat Springs
  • Stage 5: Saturday August 27: Steamboat Springs to Breckenridge
  • Stage 6: Sunday August 28: Golden to Denver

Steamboat Springs is the only USA Pro Cycling Challenge host city to feature a race Finish and a Start, on Friday August 26th and Saturday August 27th (respectively). Located just 3 hours and 3 turns from Denver; 2 hours from Vail and Breckenridge; and 2 ½ hours from Aspen, Steamboat Springs is ideally situated. Make it your home base to experience a week of thrilling adventures of the Pro Cycling Challenge and the Colorado Rockies, or make it your home for the weekend!

Steamboat is also one of only two host cities to host the US Paralympic Handcycling Race. 40 of the top US hand cyclists will ride into Steamboat moments before the Pro Challengers on Friday August 26.
